WelcomeRescueTheFish.org is here to support the efforts to save the fish on Prospect Island We will update the site with information as it becomes available, but please, feel free to browse and interact on the forums and view the pictures in the gallery.Announcements December 2nd, 2007 -- 5:00pmWell, it was another highly successful day, not only in the number of volunteers that made it out, but we saved an additional 177 Striped bass as well as what I'm sure will amount to tens of thousands of baitfish/fry.We ended the day with a much smaller number of stripers saved, but in reality, that *is* a good thing -- we were able to successfully transport 99% of the Striped bass in that area to the relative safety of the Delta waterways. We did see another group of Stripers hanging around in deeper water (not nearly as many as what we had seen where we were targeting), but there are still some fish to be saved, though rescuing these will be more of a challenge. The water where they are at is much deeper. I will follow up tomorrow with more. I cannot say this enough to the folks that supported this effort -- THANK YOU! --Jeff |
